About HamaraSchool

HamaraSchool is an independent, non-partisan public record of India's government schools. Citizens who visit a school and film a public reel can file the link against that school's page. We show official UDISE+ records and citizen reports side by side, dated and unranked — we catalogue and date-stamp, we don't adjudicate. Videos always remain on Instagram/YouTube with their creators; this site hosts no video and takes no position on any school, government, or party. Reels praising good schools are as welcome as reels documenting problems.

Filming guidelines

  • Take the head teacher's permission before filming inside — some states restrict filming in government schools; check your state's rules.
  • Film outside class hours where possible. Film infrastructure, not people.
  • Never film children's faces. Never interview children.
  • Never film toilets or washrooms unless they are visibly empty.
  • Don't name or blame individual teachers or staff — document conditions, not people.
  • Start your reel at the school gate with the name-board visible — it helps everyone verify your report.

Grievance & takedown

To report content — wrong school, a child-safety concern, something that names an individual, or a reel you created and want removed — email grievance@hamaraschool.org with the school page link. Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days; child-safety reports are actioned immediately. Creators and submitters can have their own content removed at any time, no questions asked.

Grievance Officer details and full Terms of Use will be published here before public launch.

Data & methodology

School directory: UDISE+ (Ministry of Education), self-reported by schools, obtained via India Data Portal under the ODC-By licence. School facts shown verbatim with their data year. Citizen reports are links to public reels, human-reviewed before appearing, ordered by date, never ranked. Aggregate data will be released openly (CC-BY).
